Well we’re back from our visit to the first day of the Great American Outdoor Show.  It was a good day.  Probably the highlight was watching Chris Brackett‘s show where he shot all kinds of things out of the air with a bow and arrow.  Didn’t see him shoot an aspirin, but did see him shoot hit a life saver!

Jake just recently got his first bow and arrow so the show was quite interesting to him.  Chris was great, took the time to talk to Jake and left us get a picture.

I went to the show expecting to not have enough room to turn around.  It was crowded but wasn’t quite as bad as I’d expected.  It was difficult to get to some of the booths, but others were easy to access.

They definitely had plenty of hunting and fishing equipment.  Did stroll through the fishing charters and picked up some flyers on NY Salmon fishing charters.  We like salmon and have started to do some fishing so it seems logical to combine the two.

I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t more camping and hiking gear.  There were a couple tents, but didn’t really see much other camping gear.  No sleeping bags, or camp stoves, at least not that I could find.
